Altenbourg and inscribed as a handprint, in addition limited among other things 2/5, 2/6, as well as 4/5, all in all nice condition with slight signs of age, format from approx. 13.8 x 9.5 cm to approx. 17 x 12 cm, 1980s, poet, painter and graphic artist, actually Gerhard Ströch, grew up in Altenburg in Thuringia, 1948-50 studied at the HS for architecture and fine arts in Weimar with Hans Hoffmann-Lederer and in Hans’ litho workshop Arloth, he draws his inspiration from events he has experienced himself such as war experiences and from literature, art and intellectual history from ancient mythology to Pablo Picasso and Johannes Bobrowski, 1952 first solo exhibition in the Springer Gallery in West Berlin, in the GDR by Bernhard Heisig and Willi Sitte, 1977 participation in documenta 6 in Kassel, from 1970 member of the GDR Academy of Arts and the Institute for Modern Art in Nuremberg // GDR Art
