Oil/canvas, relined, "Festgesellschaft", courtly society at the feast on a decorated park terrace, the majority of the festively dressed guests are sitting at an opulently set table and are engrossed in a conversation, in the right half of the picture guests are addressing an arriving guest turn towards, musicians indicated in the background, all attributes speaking for the artist are present in the painting, fine elaboration of even the smallest details, each group of people tells a different story, and typical of the Palamedesz manuscript are also playing dogs in the foreground of the picture, verso signed and remains of sealing wax, old rest. 54 x 57 cm, with frame approx. 70 x 72 cm, Anthonie Palamedesz (Palamedes), also known as Steves, was a Dutch portrait and genre painter, he was a student by Michiel van Mierevelt and Frans Hals, member of the painters' guild in his hometown of Delft, influenced by Dirck Hals, his older brother was the battle painter Palamedes Palamedesz (1607-1638), works by the artist can be found in the following museums, among others: Wallraf-Richartz-Museum Cologne , Mauritshuis The Hague, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Louvre Paris, Hermitage Saint Petersburg, Victoria & Albert Museum London, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Philadelphia Museum of Art and Chrysler Museum Norfolk
