Etching, humorous depiction, posthumous print, signed below the depiction by the widow Johanna Höpfner for W. Höpfner and limited 25/30, framed behind glass in a passe-partout, depiction approx. 17 x 20 cm, with frame approx. 56 x 40 cm, probably a print from the 1970s, 1918 studied at the arts and crafts school in Magdeburg, 1919 at the state art school in Berlin, worked as a drawing teacher in Magdeburg from 1921, joined the left-wing artist association Die Kugel, worked with the architect Bruno Taut, from 1926 in Berlin, acquaintance with Max Liebermann and Käthe Kollwitz, again working in the school, also various functions in the GDR cultural association etc., the Winckelmann Society Stendal has been awarding the Wilhelm Höpfner Prize for the promotion of young graphic artists since 1984
