Manufacturer: Philipp Rosenthal, Selb, 1 grinding line, model by Fritz Heidenreich 1938, white porcelain, woodpecker sitting on piece of tree, model no. 1691, beak slightly damaged, height approx. 21 cm, post-war model. The modeler and sculptor Fritz Heidenreich (1895-1966) attended the porcelain school in Selb as a master student of Fritz Klee. Over the long period from 1919 to 1960 he worked as a modeller for the Rosenthal art department, mainly making animal figures.
