Meissen manufactory, swords underglaze blue, first choice, model by Theodor Eichler 1914-19, polychrome painted, very rare form of this work created in the course of his series of professional depictions, on an oval base, model no. E 248, base at the back slightly restored, H approx. 22.5 cm, pommel swords from around 1915. Theodor Eichler (1868-1946) worked as an embosser at the Meissner manufactory from 1894 and studied sculpture from 1896-1903 at the Dresden Art Academy with Robert Diez. From 1903 he created models for the Meissner manufactory, including mainly female figures in Art Nouveau and Art Deco, but also a few children's models as well as scenes of farm workers and soldiers.
